Although the calendar year has flipped over to 2015, we are in the middle of the year at Masterworks. Classes are back underway after the break. Some new things are starting though: auditions for parts in Musical Theatre, new choreography for the recital, and confirming entries for the Manitoba Dance Festival. As well, "SHINE" is coming up next, where kids have a chance to focus on developing Skill, Hard work, Integrity, Nobility, and Excellence by performing shortened pieces and being adjudicated immediately after (more info is coming). January 30th is the B-Sides show (see studio news). Musique Moves and Funky Boys start a new session in February (registrations still open). So, new things are happening after the "New Year".
The turning of another year also encourages us to reflect on the past year and set vision for the coming year. What are you hoping to accomplish? If resolutions or goals don't seem appealing, it can be helpful to choose a theme for the year. This year's theme for Masterworks is seeing God "In Everything and Through Everything". A personal theme can be just one word. It may pop into your head right away, or it may need time to simmer first, but what would be one thing that you want to value or focus on this year? What one word describes your vision? Put it onto a sticky note or create a work of art around it and let it remind you every day of what is important.
Happy New Year! If you like, perhaps you can share your word in the comments on our facebook page once this blog post is posted there.
New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change.
