What is your vision/mission for what you oversee?
To continue to develop and grow richly in our call to be a place for everyone regardless of financial status or skill level.
What other projects or artistic ventures are you part of outside of Masterworks?
I take two dance classes a week through Dance Post (one of the head organizers is our lovely instructor, Janelle Hacault). It is a professional community class that we have been hosting at Masterworks. The price of the class covers the instructor and anything above goes towards our sponsored or subsidized students.
I have enjoyed the classes as it keeps me growing as a dancer/teacher and gives me fresh eyes to see and understand my own students. I have loved hosting the classes at Masterworks as we have been able to welcome the professional dance community into our home, which builds relationships and wonderful artistic connections that I am thankful for.
I'm also a part of Prairie Dancers Company, lead by Paula Blair. It has been a long time since I have performed. Being a part of this company has refreshed my creativity, and has challenged my fears and vulnerability. Leaning on God when nerves set in, is good practice. I want to practice what I preach and speak with current experience with my students.
What other communities are you part of?
I am a covenant community member at The Meeting Place and we volunteer in Kidzcore in the one-year-old room.
Would you like to introduce your spouse/kids to the Masterworks family?
I am married to Kyle Sidwall. He is a balance to my life, my reminder to breathe and let go. He makes me laugh every day and I am grateful for his love and support.
We have a six-year-old son, Cohen, who is our biggest gift. I relish his world of child-like wonder and adore watching him grow. I marvel at God the Creator when I look at my precious, silly, smart, honest, and kind boy.
Anyone you’d like to particularly thank?
I deeply thank all those who have directed before me. They poured inspiration and love and sweat into Masterworks and I am grateful that each of them passed the baton, allowing Masterworks to continue and become what it is today.
I am forever thankful to my loving encouraging and supportive family! I could not do what I do without them!
I thank all the amazing people I work with: teachers, YFC staff, volunteers, parents and students. You inspire me daily and show me the face of God in being the beautiful people you are!
To all those who partner with us financially and through prayer. Thank you for allowing us to reach out to those who normally couldn't afford lessons. You have given them a gift that is bigger than any of us can fathom!
A little known fact? Hobby?
I love to travel, go for long walks, swim (especially in the ocean), play, laugh, draw and paint, watch movies, and have honest relationships. I love animals and I adore cuddling with Kyle and Cohen.
