Meet the Team
KRISTIE SIDWALL – ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Kristie has always had a passion for movement and expression. She began exploring dance with Musical Theatre at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. She eventually realized that her favourite part of the class was dancing and sharing emotions through stories. She set her mind to becoming a dancer. She trained in all the disciplines she could at age 16. (Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, and was placed in the Performance Group.) Once she was old enough she took the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Teacher Course for two summers and caught up in the areas she hadn’t been taught yet. From there she was accepted into Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers Senior Professional Program and completed her BA in Dance through the University of Winnipeg. Kristie knew dance was an integral part in her life, but she longed for more. The emptiness she experienced lead her to finding Christ. Her love for God took over everything! She went to South Africa for a year on a Discipleship Training Program, in 2001.When she returned she joined Masterworks to worship God in the way she knew best. Soon she became a teacher. Then Kristie had the privilege to be the administrator under Victoria James, years later she would do the same under Alessandra Pauls. From there she continued in her leadership and creativity growth by becoming the Creative Arts Coordinator at The Meeting Place. Kristie has been with Masterworks for over 10 years and has moved into the exciting roll of Director. God is good.
For the 2017-18 dance year, Kristie will be stepping away from the role of Director to focus on her new family of two boys. She will continue to coach the Performance Team.

Her physical health and spiritual search caused her to abruptly leave dance but. years later, having met Jesus and following him as a pastor’s wife, the Lord brought dance back into her life. This time, instead of being wracked with self doubt and eating disorders, Victoria had experienced the love of Christ and saw dance as a means to bring life to others and give glory to God. Victoria also has an extensive vocal training and experience , including singing with the Manitoba Opera Chorus since 1989, has been a soloist in Handel's “Messiah” and other sacred classical works and often sings with her husband and leads Israeli dance as part of their work with Bridges For Peace, where she is the Executive Assistant in the Canadian National office.
