A dance and theology program for the advanced dancer ready to be launched into God's calling
What is Surfacing?
Surfacing combines ministry and discipleship with post-secondary dance training. The curriculum focuses on Ballet and Modern dance technique, using this gift to reach others with the gospel. A dance performance stream and a teaching stream are being developed. Surfacing runs from September to April, 2.5 days per week, with a mission trip at the end of the year.
Who is this program for?
This program is ideal for recent high school graduates who are looking to take their dance training to the next level and explore the fundamentals of teaching, while still balancing a part time job or other post-secondary courses.
Building community through prayer, students will unpack the Bible focusing on reaching others with the gospel, guided by Surfacing Staff and guest teachers.
In addition, students will prepare for one ministry opportunity north of Winnipeg (Shamattawa Indigenous community) where the student will have the opportunity to put their dance and ministry training to practical use. This outreach trip occurs in Spring of 2019.
